We have begun filming Chabacano, a stop-motion animated short directed and produced by Mauricio Hernández, with our production team in collaboration with the University of Austin, Texas, and co-produced by Rodada Films. Mauricio Hernández has been exploring this technique in short formats for several years. In 2021, his short film A Wooden Toy Dreamed of Paper Boats was nominated for an Ariel Award in the Best Animated Short category, and now he returns with a story where paper boats continue to play a central role.

In Chabacano, a small paper boat drifts through a maze of mirrors. Alone and melancholic, it comes to life when another boat appears in the reflections. Our protagonist will do everything possible to turn this illusion into reality.
